Camper FAQ's
Q.
Can I be in a cabin with my friend?
We encourage friends to come to camp together to help them have a great time! If you plan on doing that, make sure you are signed up for the same session and then have your parents make a cabin-mate request on the registration form and we will do everything we can to make sure you are together for the week!
Q.
Can I bring a cell phone, ipod, or my video games?
We take pride in being able to have fun ?the old fashioned way? at Copneconic. Therefore, other than a camera, we ask you not to bring any of those electronic things to camp so that you can get into the camp feel and away from all the technology.
Q.
Can I bring snacks, candy and drinks?
You will be given the opportunity to get more than enough food and drinks throughout the week, so please do not bring your own. If you have special dietary needs or anything else we should know about, have your parents give us a call and we can make arrangements so that you can get the food you need.
Q.
Can I call home whenever I want?
Phone calls in any way are discouraged unless there is an emergency. If you want to contact your parents or friends, you may write letters or answers the e-mails as they are sent to you.
Q.
Can I check my e-mail?
We do not have computers set up for campers to use at camp. You may get a special surprise on some days as your parents do have the opportunity to send you e-mails, mail and packages as much as they want. So, be ready for the mail call!!
Q.
Do I get mail or packages?
Your family and friends are encouraged to send you letters and care packages throughout the week. You will receive them each day at lunch during the mail call.
Q.
How many kids are in a cabin or group?
A typical cabin at resident camp will range from 7-10 kids and 2 or 3 counselors. Day camp groups are missed-gender and range from 10-15 campers and 2 to 3 counselors.
Q.
What are themes?
Each week we have a different theme at camp. We have lots of fun activities, storylines and ways to dress up depending on what we are doing that specific week. No week is ever the same and you will never know what exciting twist might occur as you train to be a spy or help us try to catch the villain!
Q.
What do I do with my medications that I need to take?
At check-in, we ask you to give all medications to the health officers so there are none in the cabins (this includes over the counter medication). At each meal and snack they will be giving those out to all the kids who need them. The only exception to this would be if you need an inhaler for asthma, which we would let you carry with you on your adventures.
Q.
What do we do when it rains?
Camp Copneconic takes pride in the fact that we never let something like a little water falling from the sky slow us down! Having said that, we do have a great team of amateur meteorologists who keep their eyes on the sky to make sure camp stays safe. If there is lightning or anything else dangerous on the way, we make sure to get you to safety as quickly as we can to play some indoor games.
Q.
What if I forget something?
We know that sometimes people forget things they need, and we aren?t going to make you go the whole week without brushing your teeth or taking a shower! So, if you forget something, we have plenty of extra things that we can give to you so that your week goes great!
Q.
What if I get homesick?
It is very natural for you to miss your loved ones while you are at camp. A great way to help that is to write letters and to stay as busy as you can having fun with your great cabins and counselors! Our counselors and mission team are always available to talk if you are ever feeling down.
Q.
What if I get sick or hurt?
Unfortunately, there is chance you might get sick or hurt at camp. But never fear! The Health and Safety Fairies live here! We always have two health officers whose only job all summer is to keep our kids and counselors healthy and safe.

We don?t want to give away too many of our secrets, but if your birthday happens while you are here, we always do something very special that you will remember forever!

What is camper?s choice?
Camper?s choice is a chance for you to choose your own adventure! Once a day you will get to choose an activity out of lots of fun choices. Each day will offer different options and you do not have to be with your cabin or traveling group. At camp, we like to let you make the decision!

Q.
What will I be eating?
Camp always has a great selection of delicious food that you will love. Breakfast always has a delicious main course that is helped out by a large variety of cereal and fruit. Q.
When will we wake up and go to bed?
For the active and early riser, we have Morning Mayhem each morning starting at 7 am. Whether it is the polar bear club or yoga, each morning there is a different way for you to start off the day on the right foot. Make it all four mornings and you will be a prestigious member of the Morning Mayhem Club! Either way, all campers are expected to make it to flag raising by 7:45am and lights out times differ depending on what age group you are. Younger campers will go to bed around 10, while teens will get to stay up until 11
Q.
Who are the counselors?
The most valuable part of Camp Copneconic is our staff. Hundreds of great college aged students apply every year looking for a chance to work with fun kids like you! We then choose only the best to be a part of the very prestigious Copneconic team. This includes people from all over the country and world! Each year we have many international counselors that come from many different countries including Australia, England, Spain, Sweden and many more!
