Hello Friends-
Happy Spring from everyone at the Circle C Ranch! All of our horses are just starting to shed out so I hope warmer weather is just around the corner for us. I’d like to welcome some new horses to our herd: Peaches and Shelby arrived just a few weeks ago. They came to us from one of our ranch staff members, Crystal, and are best girlfriends. They seem to be getting along really well with the other horses here too. I will be adding their pictures to our photo gallery shortly so check back soon.
We will also be starting our ranch “renovations” in the next few weeks. Our pastures will be getting a lot bigger and we will be re-doing the tack room in order to accommodate all of our new English tack. Hopefully we will be finishing that up near April, and as soon as we do I’ll make sure to update the newsletter and pictures so everyone can see! We are also planning to make-over our old “hitching-post area.” The plan is to tear out all of our hitching posts and turn that area into a third riding arena for our trail-riders. From now on, each arena will have 8 to 10 ties along the rail for the horses. There will also be water buckets at each horse’s spot instead of the two water troughs that used to be located in the “hitching-post area.” This will mean a lot less work for our ranch staff and campers. No more standing in line after every riding lesson to water each horse! It also means that there will be less horse-traffic in and around the barn.
For those of you who may be interested in getting a head-start on your riding this season, I have now set the dates for the first session of riding lessons. They will kick off April 20th for a 6 week session ending May 29th. Check out the Lessons Page for more information, or call the office at 810-629-9622 and ask for “Charlie.” I teach both English and Western, beginner through advanced riders. There will also be at least one session of lessons following our summer camps- dates haven’t been set for that yet.
I hope everyone is as excited as I am for ranch camp this summer! The countdown to summer camp is flying by so start digging out your riding boots from the closet and we’ll see you soon!
Horsefully Yours,
Charlie
