Q.
Can I call or visit?
We highly discourage visits to camp to visit your camper(s). If you are concerned about your camper(s) please contact the Resident Camp Director via phone or email.
Q.
Can I mail letters or packages?
Yes, campers love receiving mail during their stay. The only request we have is that you not send food, candy, or drinks to your child.
Q.
Can they bring phones, ipods, psp?s etc?
No, we ask that campers not bring any electronics. They will be too busy out having fun to even use them!

Can we visit camp before summer to check things out?
Yes, we love when people visit camp. We have an Open House each month from February to May. If you cannot make one of those dates please set up an appointment for a tour.

Do they have a background check?
Yes, all of our staff are required to have background checks done before they are able to work.
Q.
How are cabins/groups assigned?
Cabins/Groups are assigned by the directors at camp. We assign placements based upon age and gender. If you have cabin/group-mate requests please make a note of it when you register. If you have any special requests or concerns please contact the director of the program you are interested in.

How are medical issues taken care of?
Both day and resident camps have an onsite health officer that treats medical issues. These individuals also dispense all camper medications. The Resident Camp Health Officer is on site and on call 24 hours a day while camp is in session.

How are they trained?
All staff are required to attend a 6-day training at the beginning of the summer. Camper safety, behavior management, homesickness, and identifying campers? needs are just some of the topics of staff training.

How do I communicate with my child?
We encourage all of our parents to communicate with their child(ren) during their stay at camp. Parents can utilize E-Camp to send emails or write a letter.

How do you pick counselors?
All of our staff go through a rigorous interview process to ensure the highest level of quality. References are also checked for all staff going through the hiring process.

How much does camp cost?
Costs of camp range depending on the program. Day Camp ranges from $105-$305 a session. Resident Camp ranges from $400-$650 a session.

Is there a camp store?
Yes, the camp store is located in the Welcome Center in the main part of camp. It is open at the check-in and check-out of each session.

Is there financial assistance available?
Yes, please refer to the financial assistance page found in the ?Parent Section?. If you have any questions please feel free to call the office.

What are the bus locations for day camp?
Locations vary week by week. Please refer to the registration information for specific locations each week.

What if my child has special needs?
YMCA Camp Copneconic welcomes campers of all kinds. Please contact the Resident or Day Camp Director to discuss your camper?s specific needs.

What if my child takes medication?
At check-in on the first day of camp we ask that you turn in all medications to the Health Officers. This includes all over the counter medications. This helps to prevent any medicine finding its way into the cabins. The Health Officers will distribute medications at the time you have designated.

What if there is inclement weather?
Camp will continue rain or shine. If there is a serious weather issue, campers will be moved inside to safety.

What if they get homesick?
It is very natural for your camper to miss you while at camp. A great way to help is to write them letters and we try to keep them as busy as possible having fun with their great cabin-mates and counselors! Our counselors and mission team are always available to talk if they are ever feeling down.

What if they have a birthday at camp?
Please inform your child?s counselor or Camp Director. We love celebrating birthdays at camp.

What is the camp?s mission?
Our goal is to provide facilities, services and programs that make your visit an enjoyable experience leading to lifelong memories. Whether your aim is to find a special summer experience for your child, use our accommodations to conduct your own programming, or to call on our staff to lead activities for your group, we strive to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

What is the camper to counselor ratio?
Camp Copneconic strives to maintain as low of a camper to counselor ratio as possible. For Snoopers we maintain a 1:4. Day Camp and Resident Camp ratios are 1:6. These numbers fluctuate slightly throughout the day based upon what program areas your camper(s) are attending (i.e., waterfront, high adventure, nature, etc?)

What is the difference between day and resident camp?
The most significant difference between the two programs is the length in which campers are at camp. Our resident campers stay at camp throughout their amazing experience. Day campers arrive each morning and leave at the end of the day. Each camp uniquely programs based upon the age and needs of their respective campers.

What is the food like?
Camp Copneconic is famous for serving some great kid friendly food. Meals range from pancakes, eggs, cereal, or yogurt for breakfast and meatball subs, tacos, Sloppy Joes for lunch. Dinner can be lasagna, macaroni and cheese, or hamburgers and hotdogs. If you camper has any specific dietary needs please contact our Kitchen directly (810-629-9622). Our seasoned kitchen professionals are very experienced in the dietary needs of our campers.

What is their daily schedule?
Daily schedules vary by age and program. Resident campers begin their day at flag raising and breakfast. The morning is filled with exciting cabin adventures and lunch at noon. The afternoon consists of a rest period, free swim at Lake Copneconic, and more activities. Evenings are spent battling aliens, experiencing other cultures, or being trained as a spy in our famous theme events.
Day campers begin their day with fun-filled activities and a morning snack. Great theme events happen multiple times a week during and after lunch. After lunch our age groups rotate between more activities, free swim or campers choice. There is an afternoon snack just before checkout begins at 4:30.

What should my child bring?
You will receive a ?What to Bring List? in your parent packet upon registration. Please remember to send your camper with clothes and shoes that can get dirty. They will be having lots of fun in them.

Where do they sleep?
Resident campers reside in their cabins which consist of 6-7 bunk beds. Campers will able to pick out their bunk upon arrival to camp

Camp is located at 10407 North Fenton Road, Fenton, MI 48430. Please refer to our ?Directions to Camp? section found on our website.

Who are the counselors?
Camp Copneconic is extremely attentive to the selection of its staff, recognizing that the safety and enjoyment of every camper depends on the quality of the people leading them. Our college-age leaders are kids at heart who have been carefully selected and trained for the important role they play in your child's life.
