My son, James, was a participant in one of Camp Copneconic’s resident camps this summer, and I’m offering a belated by very enthusiastic thank you note to your staff – in particular to Matt and Nick of Boone Cabin – who were instrumental in assuring that James had a positive experience.

I had so much fun! I'm coming back next summer. I also wish I could live there. Someday it would be awesome to be a counselor at camp.

HaileyMy experiences at Camp Copneconic have always been absolutely amazing! This upcoming summer will be my 10th with the camp and it’s what keeps me going throughout the school year. Camp has taught me so much. They have taught me how to step outside my comfort zone, but how to do it in a way that I will love. The counselors remember who you are, they are nice and understanding when there’s something you need to talk about, and will help with whatever you need.

It has been a privilege for my family and I to be associated with the Camp since 2006. My son started attending as a Day Camper at age 7, that winter he attended the Summer Reunion during winter break. That was his first experience at "overnight" camp, it was just one night, but he came home saying "This year I am going to Resident Camp!" I love the fact that after just one night, he was comfortable enough to want to stay for a week. He has been a Resident Camper since.

"As part of every summer resident camp session, the camp staff traditionally put on a barbecue lunch for the campers.  These days are magical because campers so enjoy the company of their friends, some great music and dancing, and some tasty food from the grill. During one of these picnics I ran into a nine year old camper who had barbecue sauce all over his face and just looked so happy.  I asked him what he did today, and he said “I have had fun all day long!”

"When our kids first went to camp they were nervous and scared about being away from mom and dad as well as trying new things. When we picked them up one week later they shared with us all the things they had done and the adventures that they had. Our daughter was so excited to tell us that she had not only caught a fish but, had touched it too. Our son was so proud of the fact that he was able to over-come his fear of heights and flew down the zip line. It was amazing to see that our children had broken out of their shells, conquered their fears, and had FUN.
