We are proud to partner with organizations that provide special needs camps for children. Copneconic also partners with an outstanding dance camp and a program for gifted and talented children. Registration for each camp is handled by the respective organizations.
Camp Midicha - American Diabetes Association
(June 20-25 & June 27-July 26)
ADA Camp Midicha is designed for, and dedicated to children and teens with diabetes. Since 1955, the ADA has offered this incredible camping program where lifelong friendships are made, where all the children have diabetes and no one feels “different.” Medical and dietary needs are monitored by a full-time medical staff throughout the experience. Time is also spent each day in fun, interactive diabetes education sessions to increase awareness and diabetes management skills. All of this is facilitated in an environment of fun! Camp Oasis - Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (July 11-17)
CCFA Camp Oasis provides youth with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis a sanctuary to leave their disease behind and just be kids. Children are challenged to do things they may never thought possible. Group and individual activities help children return home with the confidence to set goals and try new things. The schedule also allows for plenty of time for campers to relax, get to know one another, and share the best medicine of all: laughter. Camp Quality USA - Kids Living With Cancer (July 18-23)
Camp Quality USA, Inc. provides year-round support programs for children with cancer and their families. The Camp Quality summer camp allows children with cancer to be children again. The program creates stress-free environments that offer exciting activities, foster new friendships and help give children courage, motivation and emotional strength. Kidney Foundation Summer Camp (July 18-23)
The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan is dedicated to promoting quality of care for people with chronic kidney disease, diabetes and hypertension. The NKFM Summer Camp provides children who are living with chronic kidney disease, and spend much of their time in hospitals, the opportunity to experience the joys and friendships from a week of summer camp. Camp Yunasa - Institute for Educational Advancement (July 25 - August )
Yunasa, the Lakota word meaning balance, is a week-long camp experience for highly gifted youth. Yunasa’s mission is to teach campers techniques for integrating the intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical aspects of their lives. Yunasa is devoted to reminding bright young people that they are more than just intellect. Campers gain confidence and comfort interacting with peers in an emotionally safe environment. Burn the Floor Dance Camp (August 8-13)
Burn the Floor Performing Arts Camp is designed to inspire dancers with positive, nurturing and enthusiastic attitudes. The unique mother and daughter team of Sally and Nicole Doerr, along with their excellent staff and guest artists, aspire to promote confidence, motivation, and skill with their campers. The staff looks forward to educating dancers through a variety of dance styles, professional acting classes and group voice lessons.
