Our School Program Curriculum offers unique educational experiences for students ranging from 1st to 12th grade. Our overall philosophy is to provide outdoor and character based programs that supplement what schools are teaching in the classroom. Below is a summary of our outdoor education, teambuilding, and character development programs:
Project E.A.R.T.H. is designed for schools serving grades 4 through 8, and who prefer a broad based outdoor education experience that enhances environmental, social and academic goals. One to five day programs are available.
An acronym, EARTH stands for Environmental Discovery; Adventure & Cooperative Learning; Recreational Fun; Touching Nature; and Historical and Cultural Lessons. Project EARTH provides a diverse curriculum that is entirely customizable to school goals. Teachers and administrators, with the help of Copneconic’s Director of School Programs will choose activities that will accomplish the goals of the camping experience.
Michigan benchmarks are reinforced through experiential learning. A love of nature is instilled in students and a better understanding of our Earth will be gained. Students develop a greater respect for the environment and all who share it.
Camp Copneconic provides a program where school groups, teachers, and/or sports teams can learn how to positively interact with each other. Our program focuses on overall group dynamics such as communication, conflict resolution, team effectiveness and leadership.
Through the use of our low initiatives challenge course, double-decker high ropes course, three zip lines and 55-foot climbing tower, our trained facilitators will provide an outstanding team-based experience. We design our program around your specific group needs in order to help accomplish group goals.
Our facilitators are trained on how to build effective teams and manage positive group interaction. Our programs are perfect for teachers and /or fall classrooms interested in starting the school year as a cohesive unit, a sports team wanting to gel before a season, or for any group looking to improve team strength. In any occasion, Camp Copneconic is simply a great place to have fun together.
The Heroes Retreat is a one to three day character development workshop for schools serving grades 4 through 12. The program is designed to uncover heroic behavior, strengthen the character of each student, improve interpersonal relationships, and establish a school culture based on care, compassion, and cooperation.
Students embark on a journey of personal discovery that involves improving self-confidence, gaining an understanding of individual responsibility, and developing everyday heroic behaviors through courage and character.
Throughout the journey students learn on a group level how a school full of heroes – willing to cooperate and work together as a team – can bring unified strength and overall happiness to an entire student body.
