Meet The Staff
Our staff come from a wide variety of backgrounds; from local people with a passion for working with children, to college graduates with degrees in recreation and education. They come from near and far, but they all have one thing in common - they're great with children.
Ryan Hove - Resident Camp/School Programs Director
Ryan is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a B.A. in Geography. He received his Masters in Science (Experiential Education) from Minnesota State University. Ryan directs summer resident camp and all school-based programs. He has ten years of combined camp leadership experience with the YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club (Pathfinder Ranch, California). He has a passion for green technology and a love for outdoor education, positively impacting the environment and the lives of others. He is currently heading up Copneconic's green initiatives.
Carl Fleming - Resident Camp/School Programs Manager
Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, Carl grew up in Geelong, Australia. He is a graduate of Deakin University with a degree in Biological Science. Carl has done an outstanding job for Camp Copneconic over a five-year period and currently handles the management of school-based and resident camp programs. Carl also serves as the technology manager for the camping services branch in helping our customers receive efficient and quality-oriented administrative services.
Brian Frawley - School Programs Coordinator
Brian is a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia with a B.A. in American Studies. Brian has been working in the experiential education field for over six years. Brian is our School Program Coordinator, and a age group director in the summers. Brian has worked for two other camps, and has done countless teambuilding presentations to groups all over New York State. Brian has a passion for the outdoors and sports, if he is not at camp you can find him on one of the local disc golf courses. Brian believes strongly that the kids of today, our the leaders of tomorrow.
Elizabeth hails from Gouverneur, New York and is a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia, with a B.S. in Communication Studies and a minor concentration in Leadership Studies. She has been a member of the YMCA Camp Copneconic team since the fall of 2008. For the last six years Elizabeth has been facilitating teambuilding and experiential education techniques while working in various roles within the camping industry. While at college, Elizabeth was a part of a leadership organization that specialized in facilitating teambuilding, group cohesiveness, critical thinking, and organizational leadership through experiential education methods. While growing her own leadership skills over the years she has helped others expand their own leadership abilities and strives to continue passing on the importance of positive leadership.
Program Instructors
Copneconic’s Program Instructors make your camp experience a great one. They are kid oriented staff who love to work in the out of doors. They will go out of their way to make sure that the kids, teachers and chaperons are comfortable during their camp stay.
The current group of instructors is comprised of Linda Zeeb, Elizabeth Hudson, Brian Frawley, Jess Fodera, Ben Martin, Mike Gilmour, Greg “Scooby” Croxton, Chandra Landon and Josh Switzer.
