Summer Camp Staff

The best role models a parent could ask for

YMCA Camp Copneconic understands the importance of positive role models for today’s young people. Each summer over 140 enthusiastic and kid-loving staff come to Copneconic to shape campers’ lives one summer at a time. A well-trained, passionate staff is crucial to an exciting and unforgettable summer camp experience. All staff members undergo an extensive and professional training program together in preparation for our campers’ arrival.

Health and Safety

The primary focus of all we do

The health and well being of our campers is our foremost concern. A camp health officer lives on site in our infirmary and works under the supervision of our camp doctor.  We strictly enforce safety policies – everyone wears helmets and harnesses while climbing, lifejackets while participating in any boating activities and helmets while horseback riding.  Properly trained and certified lifeguards supervise aquatic activities. Camp is licensed by the State of Michigan and accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). The ACA is a nationally recognized association that focuses on high quality standards across every facet of YMCA Camp Copneconic’s operation.

Cabins and Facilities

The perfect mix of modern and historic buildings

Camp is nestled among the 700 acres of woods and meadows overlooking majestic Lake Copneconic. This is the perfect backdrop for a memorable week with friends in the outdoors. Our modern facilities combined with our historic buildings provide campers with one of the premiere camp experiences in the country.
